My take on the Switch 2

The Switch preorders are out and the talk about 70 to 80 dollar games is raging. So here is my take.

The Switch 2 as a device in of itself is an amazing piece of hardware. No doubt that Nintendo is perfecting the mobile gaming device. Ever since the game boy, Nintendo has always had amazing portable hardware. This is no different. With the expanded storage, power and features(although they should have just had discord preinstalled) the device is great.

The gaming situation is the question everyone is talking about. So there are two questions here.

1. Should companies charge more has games become more involved process?

2.  What is a 70, 80, or 90 dollar game?

Everyone has there take, so here is mine. It somewhere in between. When it comes to buying games at full price there are some instance where I(myself) will say I will play this game and will pay the price. In other times its meh Ill wait for a sale. In regards to Nintendo's price point, as much as I find there games entertaining, let just say I am an owner of an Asus Rog Ally Z1 extreme vs going the switch2 route. I think the price point for games is too high. I think the there are a few games that are worth it but some are just a nah. At least for now. One of the reasons I say that is what exactly am I getting in the game. Mario Kart looks amazing, but do I really want a Forza Horizon clone Mario style. Donkey Kong looks great!! However, what makes it stand out against Mario Odyssey. Kong specific style. I am getting more and more things out of PC then sticking with just one device and for what, Nintendo games. To me that is the only reason to get a switch is the Nintendo IP and Pokémon. Other than that, there is not much out of that, that you can't play on a mobile PC gaming rig like the steam deck or rog ally. That is only going to get better for the PC side of things. Nintendo's market on handheld gaming will be challenge if not already. Pushing games to that price(which lets face it, you will never see those games go lower than 10-15% at any sale going forward for the foreseeable future. I rather wait it out. Give it 1-2 yrs when the market is saturated with switch2 and games are not expensive. Until then, I will enjoy the mobility of playing games on my Asus rog Ally from steam, epic, gog and amazon.

To those how will get a switch 2, enjoy the games enjoy the console and see you on there other side.
